Blanket Paradise, located in the Paradise/Magalia area of Northern California, is an idea that I began to develop back in 2007. Currently the organization has enough volunteer 'Crafters' that we've already been able to donate some of our creations to individuals at the Feather River Cancer Center. With more 'Crafters' joining us we hope to be able to continue to provide donations to the patients at the Cancer Center along with local long term care facilities for cancer patients and other patients who are living with long term, serious illness. We also hope to provide donations of baby items to the Feather River Healthy Mother's Program. The success of this group is much more about the 'sum of the whole effort' versus one individual who had an idea. I am very pleased by the interest that Blanket Paradise is already enjoying in this early stage of it's existence. I believe that the comfort brought to a person by a Blanket Paradise creation cannot be underestimated. I also believe that we will find many 'Crafter's' in our community who will welcome the chance to put their unique talents to use to help provide comfort and security to people at a time when they need it most. In doing this, we will be given the opportunity to use our talents and abilities in a very rewarding way.

Moving my idea for Blanket Paradise from an idea to becoming a reality could not have been accomplished without the invaluable help and input of Margarete Taylor and Mary Kemp. Margarete's technical expertise made this website a reality. And, without both Margarete's and Mary's creativity, advice, idea sharing and, of course, their love of creating items to share with others, Blanket Paradise would still just be an idea that I had not the wonderful reality that it has become.
